What the Consumer Protection Act Gives You on a Repair
- Section 57 covers every new or reconditioned part installed during a repair, and the labour to install it, for three months from installation. That cover comes from the Act, and it excludes misuse and ordinary wear and tear.
- Section 15(4): for repair work covered by section 15, the supplier must tell you about any extra estimated charges and get your permission to continue before charging more than the estimate.
